![]() Given the first amplification stage has a gain of 510, this means there’s only 1.96kHz of bandwith “left” inside the LM258. – … while the LM258 has a gain bandwidth product of 1MHz! – Which leads to a total gain of 51000 (94dB) – Amplification on the first stage is 510 while the amplification on the second stage is 100 – I don’t see any reason for that 1nF capacitor when the high pass filter is done using the first op-amp – No high pass filter on the second amplifier (remember, the cutoff slope in the first amplifier stage isn’t vertical) Many many things are odd with this recommended amplification circuit: This is the (very low resolution) recommended amplification circuit that you will find online. Amplification Circuit from Chinese Sellers You may therefore be able to measure much higher speeds if the moving object is close to the sensor. Here’s the simulated amplification output generated using LTspice: However, this isn’t exactly true as the filter cutoff slope isn’t vertical. The high cutoff frequency is therefore set for a 24km/h or 15.4m/h speed. The InnoSenT application note allows us to put these frequencies in context: I’ll spare you the maths, the suggested amplification is 1018 (60dB) and a band pass filter from 3.4Hz to 1.06kHz. You’ll however notice that the op-amp positive input in our suggested schematics is tied to vcc/2, allowing us to have a centered amplification output as well.įrom the formulas above, we can compute the circuit total gain and cutoff frequencies. It consists in 2 cascaded inverting band pass filter circuits: The one you see above comes from InnoSenT. Now that I had traced the origins of this CDM324, I could find its recommended amplifier schematics. Finally, the advertised power consumption is identical to the HB100’s: up to 40mA 5V. The Radiated Power (EIRP) is more or less the same: 16dBm vs 15dBm. Specification-wise, the CDM324 antenna pattern is slightly narrower than the HB100’s: 80° azimuth and 32° elevation versus 80° azimuth and 40° elevation. I finally arrived to the conclusion that it likely is a clone of the InnoSenT IPM 165, which is itself very similar to the AP96 from Agilsense. I therefore spent several hours tracing the origins of this tiny sensor. Oddly enough, looking for “cdm324” on your favorite search engine won’t bring any interesting results. This motion sensor can easily be purchased on eBay under the name CDM324. Moreover, as the main frequency is higher the patch antennas are smaller, hence the tiny 25x25圆mm module. While the HB100 is using a 10.525GHz frequency, this new module uses 24.125GHz! This has the main advantage of being compatible with European regulations (ETSI #300 400) and having good penetration in dry materials. You may recall the article I wrote a couple of years ago about a nearly identical Doppler sensor, the HB100. This is the reason why a fire truck’s siren has a higher pitch when the truck is going towards you than when it is going away. I’m sure you’re quite familiar with the Doppler effect: you send an RF signal at a given frequency to a target, and if this object/person is moving the reflected signal’s frequency will be shifted. A few of these are prolonged bed rest, recent surgery, long trips in a plane or car, pregnancy and jobs that require long uninterrupted periods of sitting. There are many factors that place people at increased risk of contracting DVT. Together, they contribute to at least 100,000 deaths a year.ĭVT may be a silent condition or it may cause pain, swelling or discoloration of the skin near the clot site. According to the Surgeon General, between 350,000 and 600,000 Americans develop DVT or a pulmonary embolism each year. Stroke and heart attack are other potential consequences if the clot lodges in the brain or heart. This type of blockage is known as a pulmonary embolism. While the clot sometimes will cause no symptoms in the person who has it, the clot or part of it may dislodge and travel to other areas of the body, especially the lung, where it may block an artery. Since these clots are capable of lodging in the lungs, heart or brain, any treatment that breaks up a clot more quickly is potentially life saving.īasically, any activity that requires you to stay in a certain position for a long period of time adds to the risk of DVT.ĭeep vein thrombosis (DVT) refers to a blood clot that forms in a vein deep in the body, most frequently in the lower leg or thigh. The ultrasound loosens proteins present in the clots, helping speed delivery of the drugs into the clots. Ultrasound treatments increase the effectiveness of clot dissolving drugs, helping to dissolve blood clots more quickly. ![]() Now let's put these two clauses together to form a complete sentence: Here's an example of an independent clause:īut you also can get dependent clauses, and they can't stand on their own because they don't form a complete thought, so they get tacked on to an independent clause to form a longer, more complex sentence. That's why you only really need one independent clause to form a sentence because, being made up of a subject and a predicate, they form a complete thought. Sound familiar? Yup, that's what sentences are made of, too. ClausesĬlauses are essential to understand because they're what sentences are made of.Ī clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a predicate. There are tons of fun parts of a sentence you can use in your predicate, which we're going to go over in this section.īut first, you need to understand what a clause is. But they can also contain a whole lot more than that. Predicates include, at the very least, one verb. This could be a period, question mark, exclamation point, and occasionally ellipses.Īs we've already covered, sentences are made up of a subject and a predicate. Always capitalize the first word of a sentence. There are two things you should never forget about sentences: Okay, okay, there's one exception (there always is!): an exclamatory sentence can be just a verb and nothing else. To make it a little more complex, you can add more clauses. The most basic form of a sentence only contains a subject and a verb. See the following examples where the subject is in bold and the predicate is underlined.īees carry pollen from one flower to another. A predicate is made up of a verb, at the very least, and at most, all the other elements that describe the action. Every single sentence has, at the very least, a subject and a predicate.Ī subject is a thing or person that does the action of the verb or has the action of the verb performed on it.But what is a sentence at its core, and what do they all have in common? It can ask a question, give a command, make a statement, and do several other things. It can be short or long, simple or complex. I suppose the first question we need to address is, what exactly is a sentence? It can be many things, really. E.P.Concluding Thoughts on Sentence Structure What is a Sentence? With the Sonos you can use Sonos’s own voice assistant which is going to allow you to control your speaker with just your voice… or you can also use Alexa. The only voice assistant that you can use with the HomePod is Siri… cause its apple, duh. Next up there’s the voice assistants on these speakers. Where as with the Sonos, if you have a Sonos soundbar like either an Arc or a beam gen 2, then you can use 2 of the same Sonos speakers as rear satellite speakers… and with the bose, you can’t actually use your bose speaker as a part of your home theater set up if you have a bose soundbar… but you can use it to play music in sync. ![]() However, with the HomePod, if you were to get 2 HomePods and if you were to get an apple TV, you can always use them as a home theaters set up, which I am told is pretty underwhelming. But with these other two speaker, you can only use them wirelessly. However, in order for you to use a wired connection with this speaker, you have the buy the USB C to audio jack adaptor, which is sold separately, and I think that’s just ridiculous. Now continuing on the topic of connectivity, the Sonos is the only speaker here that you can use a wired connection with it. And personally I think having bluetooth on your smart speaker is important, cause this way, if you want to share your speaker with someone, you don’t have to give them your wifi password. Now I know that it sounds very basic that im having to point out that you can connect to either the Sonos or Bose with Bluetooth… but this is a big deal for Sonos cause this is actually new for Sonos. The bose has airplay 2 support so you can stream music to it if your iPhone is connected to the same wifi network as your speaker… but the bose also has chrome cast support, so you can also stream music to it if you’re using an android device. Now the Sonos is also best used with an iPhone cause it also mainly relies on airplay to stream music to it… but you can still use an android device with the Sonos cause you can either download the Sonos app on your phone and stream music to it through the Sonos app… or you can connect to the Sonos speaker by using bluetooth.īut then theres the bose which plays nice with both iPhone and android. With the HomePod, this is a speaker that is best used with an iPhone especially cause of it heavy Siri integration, and cause you can only stream music to it with airplay. Now first I think its super important that we talk about connectivity. Nonetheless, if you want to pick any of these speakers up they’ll be linked down below. Now I do expect the bose to go on sale from time to time… but the HomePod and sonos… not so much. Now this speaker does cost more than these other two speakers cause it has a built in battery. ![]() And finally there’s the Bose Portable smart speaker which is the oldest speaker here and it retails for $400. Next up there’s the HomePod Gen 2 which retails for $300. Regarding pricing, the Era 100 is the most affordable speaker here retailing for $250. ![]() Nonetheless lets see how the Sonos Era 100 stacks up to the HomePod Gen 2 and the Bose Portable smart speaker. Now the Era 100 doesn’t have dolby atmos support, but its still a great sounding speaker. So the Sonos Era 100 was announced along side the larger Sonos Era 300 which has dolby atmos support. ![]() Affinity Designer is well-placed to take advantage of this trend if it continues. ![]() My prediction is that in time we'll see wider adoption of the Flat 2.0/Material Design approach, using mainly flat design elements enlivened with gradients, highlights, some textures, and shadows, along with use of images and videos as elements. I suspect that for many people flat design looks both "cleaner" and more modern than visual skeuomorphism ("realism") after its widespread use in Mac, Windows, and Google design elements from 2013/2014 onwards, overtaking the visual skeuomorphism of earlier design elements (although not necessarily replacing layout derived from real objects), particularly with the introduction of subtle elements such as gradients and highlights in Flat (Design) 2.0. ![]() Moreover, while the ADL repository does provide 3D models for those who prefer skeuomorphic ("realistic") design, the SCORM users guide for instructional designers does not mandate the use of 3D, and in fact specifically states that it "does not dictate the formatting or look and feel of screens and the elements on them" (p.17) and "SCORM does not dictate any particular design methodology or design pattern" (p.27). They were very handy recently rather than using individual SVG elements for maintaining consistency with existing material using Font Awesome SCORM standards, by my understanding, are intended to provide guidelines on pathways and sequencing, and technological consistency for re-use and interaction of eLearning resources, rather than providing standards for the UI/UX world in general, and the only design elements refer to data models, not UI/UX. ![]() In this game, your objective is to shoot bubbles with the devil Use your spike.
